Características:

En principio posee tan solo cuatro cuerdas y es el representante de registro mas agudo de entre todos los existentes en esta familia de cordófonos. Entre sus partes, posee un mango donde se deslizan las cuerdas pero, a diferencia de las guitarra, allí no posee trastes para formar las notas sino que el mismo es completamente liso.
